"Just
Cause" is the first annual gathering of anti-human trafficking events from
September 10-17, 2011 throughout the Houston area. “Just Cause” is a cooperative initiative of churches,
faith-based ministries, and local businesses and organizations that are
committed to addressing God's passion for justice for the oppressed in our own
community and beyond.
Our theme, “Just Cause,” is based on the
biblical principles of justice for the oppressed found throughout the pages of
Scripture. We encourage groups to form events that support this theme and
that can help their respective churches and neighborhoods to learn more about
human trafficking. For example, Kingsland Baptist is hosting its second
annual 5k run called "Just Run." Free the Captives and Mission
Centers of Houston is hosting a "Just Rap" event. Redeemed
Ministries is hosting a prayer walk called "Just Pray." As you
can see, there are numerous ways to raise awareness about human trafficking.
The "Just Cause" committee is
comprised of Omar Garcia, Missions Pastor at Kingsland Baptist, Dennis and
Bobbie Mark, Directors of Redeemed Ministries, and Julie Waters, Executive
Director of Free the Captives.
